Meet Dr. Phil Hoyt: A Commitment to Care in Fort Wayne
We are absolutely thrilled to introduce Dr. Phil Hoyt, our new associate dentist and the newest member of the Holmes family.
If you’ve visited us recently, you may have already met him. If not, we’d love for you to. Because Dr. Hoyt isn’t just joining our team. He’s choosing to put down roots in Fort Wayne, and that says everything about the kind of dentist and person he is.
From North Central to the IU School of Dentistry
Dr. Hoyt grew up in the Castleton area of Indianapolis and graduated with Honors from North Central High School. Even as a teenager, he knew dentistry was his path. While other kids were still figuring out what they wanted to do, Dr. Hoyt was shadowing dentists, volunteering in patient settings, and quietly preparing for a career built on helping others.
He studied General Health Sciences at Purdue University, then earned his Master’s in Biology from IUPUI in 2012. In 2017, he graduated in the top 10% of his class from the Indiana University School of Dentistry.
But Dr. Hoyt will be the last person to lead with those credentials. What he really wants you to know is this: he became a dentist because he genuinely enjoys caring for people.
Eight Years in Westfield. A Lifetime of Experience.
After dental school, Dr. Hoyt practiced as an associate in Westfield, Indiana, for eight years. There, he built something that can’t be rushed: trust.
He built relationships with patients who returned year after year. He built skills across every aspect of general dentistry, like root canals, extractions, dental implants, and pediatric care. And he built a reputation as a dentist who listens, explains, and never makes you feel rushed.
So why leave a practice where he was so well-loved? Because Fort Wayne called him home.
Dr. Hoyt and his family made the intentional decision to relocate to this community. They chose Fort Wayne. They chose to grow roots here. And they chose Holmes Family & Cosmetic Dentistry as the place where Dr. Hoyt would continue his life’s work.
